Bought this cheap Epiphone SG bully a couple days ago for $50. How it started vs how it's going!. this guitar is from the short lived "E-series" from Epiphone in 2001. The whole series is kinda quirky. I'm guessing it was a low end line since this sgs body is made from plywood. It cleaned up nicely though.

Introduced in 1989, the Epiphone G-Series is a line of Gibson-authorized copies of the famous Gibson SG. Common features found on most Epiphone G-Series guitars include a double-cutaway Mahogany body with humbucker pickups and a rosewood fretboard. The G-Series originally consisted of only two guitars, the Epiphone G-310 and Epiphone G-400.

Rare E series Epiphone 'Bully' with upgraded full pickguard and killer EMG pickups. Flying E masterbuilt headstock. Plays and sounds great with premium hardshell case (needs new handle). Guitar was only made in 2000-2001. Nice blood red paint with some normal playwear. In otherwise great shape.

The E-series guitars showed up in the 2001 Epi catalog and they were an attempt to grab the youngsters, kind of like the Prophecy series this year. They had hotter pickups and satin finish maple bolt necks and designs that, while based on Gibson prototypes, were all a bit different, excepting the LP (Basher) and SG (Bully) clones.

The Best part about this guitar is the price. $140, you cant beat the price. I also like the guitar because it's an SG and i like the SG style. I also loved the action, great action. Basically i got it cause it was a great buy. When i got it i didnt really like the paint. The paint was of high quality but the color sucked.
